About me

I was born in Turin (Italy) in 1981.

My information technology great passion begins at the end of the 80s by mistake, when my family, making me a present, gave me my first personal computer (based on Intel 80286) instead of a gaming console. So, I found myself at nine years old, starting coding with the embedded BASIC and insight into that hardware in depth.

When I was only 14 years old I got my first job in the IT field as a computer assembler in a little computer shop near Turin. A few months later, I jumped into an Internet visionary who owned one of the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in my region. He hired me as a network administrator and I started to “play” with UNIX and Windows, using early Internet protocols. That experience gave me a lot of expertise, as I ended that job writing Web software for the enterprise (the SaaS of today).

In 1998, two friends of mine and I, all sharing this IT passion, founded “Ahead Informatica”, my first company, in which I have spent the following twenty years, growing our business in helping customers by changing their IT systems. Our approach was completely different from the competitors’ one: simplicity and real engagement of the final users.

In 2009 we started customizing Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and I soon became an enthusiast of the product. Throughout the last ten years, we have completed with success several big ERP projects that challenged us on complexity, performance, and system integration. I specialized in SQL and code optimization, raising up NAV even in large enterprises.

The industries that we served were in retail, distribution, and pharmaceutical areas.

In 2019 I merged “Ahead” with other Microsoft Dynamics partners across Italy and together with “Horsa” (one of the major IT system integrator in Italy) we founded “Way” which quickly became a market player. The first challenge was converting the old NAV knowledge of our 100+ employees to the new Business Central. Then I started to write our APP suite that completes BC in several areas (general utilities, Italian localization, specific industries) and I spread the use of new coding tools and practices (version control, DevOps, Scrum). I finished after five years leaving 40+ APPs and unique tools to bring customers from “On premise” to “SaaS”.

And now? I want to dedicate myself to the quality of a few ERP projects, giving all my experience to reach real benefits by adopting new technologies in the enterprise.
