Retail and distribution are my specialities, the areas where I started gain ERP experience. But my city is the capital of automotive, so I can’t miss manufacturing.
Retail
I was lucky to work with leading international retailers, managing thousands of stores across the world. Handling all those transactions in Dynamics is a continuous challenge.
For these customers I set up the right administrative and control model, the better replenishment algorythms to avoid out of stock and integrated several POS systems and fiscal boxes.
Omnichannel processes let me focus also in mobile software and field devices for the store.
Distribution
Pharmaceutical distribution is one of the most complex type of distribution that continues to interest me. Lots of products with different purchases and sales rules, here in Italy also with specific regulatory rules.
Multiple shipments per days are made to hundreds of destination by a single warehouse. All the picking process is completed in less than an hour, by automatic robots (for example KNAPP or ROWA). Shipments are tracked from the warehouse to the drug stores with the latest mobile technologies.
All the orders come from the drug stores in electronic way since the 80’s, initally by modem (in Italy the Comproject protocol) and now by web services (in Italy the Farmaclick protocol). ERP systems must support hundreds of thousands of order lines per day!
A niche sector that continuously search for optimization and, in the last years, that is opening to retail model with directly owned drug stores.
Manufacturing
Turin is the Italian capital of automotive, so here it’s impossible to not know the main manufacturing processes.
I specialized in MRP customization and EDI (EDIFACT, ODETTE) to integrate the systems with customers and vendors in a trasparent way.
I’m interested in product engineering, its costing and control model.
Project Management
I can spend a lot of time speaking of Project Management for ERP but two things are mandatory for me: simplicity and users engagement.
